Liverpool’s chances of signing Alisson just took a major hit

They have been chasing him for a while

It’s not a secret that Liverpool have shown interest in Roma goalkeeper Alisson, and hope to sign him in the summer.

Alisson is likely to start in goal for Brazil in the upcoming World Cup ahead of Manchester City ‘keeper Ederson.

Liverpool would have hoped to wrap up a deal before the tournament starts in June, as a series of good performances in Russia would likely attract competition and see the player’s value skyrocket.

But it seems as though they might not get him at all, after Roma’s Director of Football, Monchi, insisted that he’s not for sale.

“I am honestly a little tired of talking about Alisson’s future, as I get asked this in every interview now,” he said.

“We have not received any offers and have no intention of selling. We are happy to have Alisson, we want to enjoy him. I don’t want to name a hypothetical price-tag for him, because when someone doesn’t want to sell, he doesn’t name a price.”

Jürgen Klopp has rotated his goalkeepers this season and appears to have settled on Loris Karius. The young German has improved after a shaky start but Klopp will still be hoping to bring in a top level goalkeeper in his pursuit to win the Premier League.
