In-form playmaker Firmino was the master of ceremonies, but his get-up was seriously confused. He was part-Skeletor and part-Batman in a kind of Día de Muertos meets Dark Knight outfit...with a black star for an eye.
Teammate Coutinho looked far cooler, although perhaps lacked his compatriot's originality. In the most prevalent look of the season, he and his missus were resplendent in Joker/Harley Quinn outfits.
But without doubt, the prize for the most grotesque and therefore faithful look went to Lucas Leiva, who truly embraced what Halloween is all about - spookiness and gore.
Sporting a look that must have taken ages to perfect, the veteran midfielder was wearing a zip on his face, to unveil the fleshy insides of his chiseled features.
