But there was a phasing out of the much mocked pose with the recent arrivals of Sadio Mane and Ragnar Klavan. They weren't shown to be leaning but looking wistfully out at the training facilities.

But upon signing Gini Wijnaldum for £25m from Newcastle United, the Liverpool twitter account decided to have some fun at their own expense by making reference to the Melwood Lean and have Wijnaldum resting in the famous stance.
It's safe to say the fans loved this unusual example of an actually funny gag...

But for some odd reason the tweet was quickly deleted, as if it was offensive or inappropriate in some way. God forbid a club actually show a bit of wit.
