Lionel Messi is one of the world’s most in-demand sportsmen, let alone footballers.

The Argentine makes an estimated US$23m per year in endorsements, according to Forbes, and that figure looks set to increase.

Messi has signed a deal to become a global brand ambassador of Tata Motors, India’s largest car company.

It is the Barcelona star’s first deal of its kind in the Asian country, and one would imagine that it will earn him a considerable sum of money.

India Times report that Messi will serve as an ambassador for the company’s passenger vehicles, meaning Tata Motors adds its name to the eclectic list of companies to which the 28-year-old has a connection.

He has appeared in a number of weird and wonderful adverts, with Lays crisps and Gillette razors chief among them…
