Lewandowski is keen on a move away from Bayern
Robert Lewandowski reportedly clashed with Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann before claiming that his career at the club was ‘over’.
The Poland striker is said to have told the Bundesliga champions that he ‘won’t sign a new deal’, with Barcelona desperate to sign the prolific frontman.
Lewandowski, who is out of contract at Bayern in the summer of 2023, scored a staggering 50 goals and registered seven assists this season and has surpassed the 40-goal landmark in seven successive campaigns.
Nagelsmann and Lewandowski clash
As reported by TZ, the 33-year-old – who is just one year younger than Nagelsmann – clashed with the Bayern boss during training. It adds that the German pulled the striker aside during one session to speak to him personally.
Nagelsmann is said to have told Lewandowski that he wanted Bayern to play wider in their attacking situations, and went on to explain how he wanted the forward to position himself in order to best receive the crosses.
This is said to have annoyed the striker, who quickly informed the coach of his goal scoring numbers that campaign.

The report adds that in December 2019, Lewandowski – who was suffering from a muscular injury at the time – was keen to return to Poland to spend Christmas with his family due to the Bundesliga winter break. However, the Bundesliga giants are said to have insisted that he remained in Germany to recuperate.
Lewandowski keen on Barca move
Speaking last week, Lewandowski told reporters : “Am I optimistic about signing for Barca? It’s a big question. I don’t like being in this situation. What is certain at the moment is that my career at Bayern is over.
“I don’t see any chance of continuing my career at this club. Let’s see what we can do in the next two weeks, I don’t want to continue at the club and I would like to focus on Poland. After the Nations League, we will have time to talk about the situation, but I don’t see any possibility to stay at Bayern.”
Lewandowski has registered 344 goals and 72 assists in 375 appearances for Bayern, winning the league title on eight occasions during his time at the Allianz Arena.
