It was always going to be an emotional occasion at the King Power this afternoon

Leicester City welcomed Burnley to the King Power Stadium this afternoon for their first home game since the tragic death of their chairman, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

It was always going to be en emotional occasion, as everyone involved with the club from the fans to the stewards to the players continue to grieve the loss of “The Boss”, a much loved chairman who had a profound effect on the club and the city.

As part of the many tributes paid to Srivaddhanaprabha, an emotive video of his most iconic moments with the club was played on the big screen at the King Power prior to kick-off.

The video recalled the club’s incredible journey, from promotion to the Premier League, the great escape under Nigel Pearson and their title-winning campaign, none of which would have been possible without Srivaddhanaprabha.

Two minutes’ silence were perfectly observed before kick-off to honour both the sacrifices of servicemen and women in conflicts past and present and the five victims of the tragedy at King Power Stadium on 27 October.
