Burnley and Leeds have written another joint letter to the Premier League

Leeds United and Burnley have written a second letter to the Premier League requesting that Everton are contacted and told to preserve all data and documents relating to income, transfers and commercial deals. It comes after the two relegation-threatened clubs wrote to the Premier League outlining concerns about the Toffees breaching financial rules. As reported by The Times, Burnley and Leeds wrote to the governing body asking for clarity on the Merseyside club's financial situation after they posted losses of £371.8million over three years. Premier League clubs are allowed to lose a maximum of £105m over three years, but covid related losses can be written off. Everton attributed £170m to the pandemic in their latest accounts, which, as noted by Burnley and Leeds in the letter, it significantly more than several other clubs in the division. However, an Everton spokesman, quoted in the Athletic, said: "We have worked so closely with the Premier League to make sure we are compliant and we are comfortable we have complied with the rules. "External auditors have told us what we can and cannot claim against the pandemic. It adds that both clubs have vowed to back the other whatever Sunday’s outcome in any potential legal action against the Premier League and the Toffees. The case against the Merseyside outfit is being spearheaded by Leeds chairman and controlling shareholder Andrea Radrizzani and Burnley chairman Alan Pace.
