Leaked images show England’s new home shirt is a return to tradition

Is *this* the kit England will wear as they secure a disappointing early exit from next summer's World Cup?

Maybe. Just maybe. With the final international break of 2017 done and dusted, thoughts are now turning towards next summer. Yes, it's still waaay too early for in depth conversations about who deserves to be in Gareth Southgate's final squad, but at least we can pass the time by poring over watermarked images of what may or may not be his team's next home kit. Having already established that the Germans will be wearing the loveliest of World Cup kits next summer, we now have what Footy Headlines - a website with its finger firmly on the leaked kit pulse - reliably tells us will be the new England kit... As you can clearly see, it's white (no shit!) - a return to traditions after Nike unexpectedly gave the current kit light blue sleeves. Footy Headlines tell us that Nike have used the Vapor template for this one, which is nice. There's also a St George's cross design running along its collar. Also nice. Other than this, the other significant change comes with the kit's shorts and socks, which will be navy and white respectively. Again, this is a return to tradition, after Nike went with white shorts and red socks on the current kit. Although an official release date is yet to be confirmed, it's expected England will have their new home kit by the time they play the Netherlands in a friendly in late March.
