Leaked images appear to confirm England’s World Cup home shirt

A more traditional look

There’s still plenty of football to be played before the World Cup this summer.

And while Gareth Southgate still has lots to ponder regarding who does and doesn’t get a spot on the plane to Russia, at least we now appear to have confirmation of the shirt his England side will be wearing during the tournament.

A couple of months back, Footy Headlines – a website with a decent track record when it comes to leaked football kits – brought us a series of images showing designs of what was claimed to be England’s next home shirt. Now, the same website appears to have unearthed the first official pictures of the same shirt, weeks before its expected release.

Just as we were told, the ice-blue sleeves that were introduced for the current England shirt have been scrapped, with the new design based on the latest Nike Vapor template. The shorts and socks will return to being navy and white respectively – completing a more traditional look to the Three Lions’ kit.

The new images also reveal a few smaller details that were not visible on the initial leaked pictures:

The new kit is expected to be launched ahead of the next international break at the end of March. England are also expected to release a new red away shirt.
