Laurent Koscielny really seemed to enjoy Arsenal supporters’ Diego Costa piss-takery

As good as Arsenal were in an attacking sense during their 3-0 thumping of Chelsea on Saturday evening, it’s worth remembering that they were also pretty convincing at the other end of the field.

Diego Costa, who started the match with five Premier League goals already to his name from five games in 2016/17, hardly had a sniff of goal as Laurent Koscielny and new central defensive partner Shkodran Mustafi kept the Spanish international quiet.

Arsenal fans were understandably delighted at how their two centre-halves had expertly coped with Costa and, as is often the case nowadays, it didn’t take long before this sort of thing started to circulate on Twitter…

Yes, that is indeed Diego Costa depicted as a child, being looked after by parents, Koscielny and Mustafi.

Such images have a way of spreading so quickly on social media that it’s difficult to nail down the original creator, but rest assured that there were plenty of them to go around.

Doctoring pictures so that one of the world’s greatest strikers looks like a child is obviously just a bit of harmless fun, but it seems that Koscielny appreciates this sort of thing all the same.

After the couple of images above were uploaded to Instagram, people were quick to spot that the French international had given them his seal of approval.
