Without a question of a doubt, Anthony Johnson has solidified himself as the number-one contender in the light heavyweight division in the early hours of Sunday morning.

If you blinked, you may have missed UFC 202’s co-main event as the unofficial light heavyweight title eliminator lasted less time than it took Bruce Buffer to call out Anthony “Rumble” Johnson.

AJ starched Teixeira with a devastating right uppercut that sent him crashing down to the ground in a heap just 13-seconds into the first stanza in a fight reminiscent of Conor McGregor’s defeat of Jose Aldo at UFC 194.

The result sees Johnson extend his win-streak in the UFC to three-straight, following his wins over Ryan Bader and Jimi Manuwa. Before that, he lost a title fight against Daniel Cormier, who recovered well after being dropped in the first round to utilise his wrestling prowess and submit him with a rear-naked choke in the second round.

During his octagon interview with Joe Rogan, Johnson took a swipe at the main eventers Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz. He thanked Teixeira for being a professional and turning up to fight without engaging in any trash talk. He referenced the bottle-throwing incident during the pre-fight press conference, clearly taking a shot at the headliners.
