It took two of Bayern's big men to tear them apart
Things seemed to be going so well at Bayern Munich. After a tough start to the season, they recently returned to the top of the Bundesliga by beating Borussia Dortmund and had started making big plans for the summer. It was a real feel good story for one of football's minnows.
However that's all been upset by Kingsley Coman and Robert Lewandowski. On Thursday, it was reported that a training ground argument between the pair escalated into a full-on punch-up.
German publication Bild claims that, as things got out of hand, defenders Jerome Boateng and Niklas Sule intervened to break up the scuffle and yet Coman and Lewandowski reportedly wanted to have at eachother even after they were torn apart.
Bayern boss Niko Kovac is under fire after an early exit from the Champions League and relatively tepid domestic season, making this the last thing he needs.
It is also said that, after the fracas, Kovac decided to keep the training session going rather than send the squad to get changed. This surprised Bayern's players and they resumed preparing for Sunday's trip to Fortuna Dusseldorf having just witnessed a bit more than your typical training ground coming together.
Munich go into the weekend a point above Dortmund after hammering their rivals 5-0 last time out, putting them back on course for a seventh Bundesliga title in a row.
