It wasn’t long ago that N’Golo Kante was synonimous with midfield solidity.

Not many opinions in football are universal, but practically everyone was in agreement that Kante was fundamental to Leicester City’s Premier League title, and that the diminutive Parisian was a brilliant signing for Chelsea Football Club.

He was seen as the midfield plug – a one man defensive wall – that the Foxes would dearly miss and the Blues would use as a platform for their own title push this season. A disappointing Euro 2016 aside, he was renowned as pretty much peerless.
