Jurgen Klopp has some bad news on the transfer front for Liverpool fans

Great news if you're Adam Lallana, though.

Jurgen Klopp says he won’t be raiding Borussia Dortmund for players.

The new Liverpool manager has been linked with January transfer moves for some of his former players, such as Mats Hummels, Ilkay Gundogan and Marco Reus.

Some Twitter users even got excited by the thought of Klopp signing Shinji Kagawa, the former Manchester United midfielder.

However, when asked by German newspaper Bild if he will attempt to sign any of his old players, Klopp said: “That’s not my intention at all.”

The 48 year old stressed that he wants to give the players currently at Liverpool a chance to prove themselves, and, at the moment, he has no plans to spend transfer money in January.

“I’m not interested in that,” Klopp said. “It’s already October and I don’t even know how many matches there are until winter.”

“But there are a few and so we’ll be looking at our own players first.”

Klopp was also asked about his declaration, during his inaugural press conference, that he is the ‘Normal One’.

“I was asked about it and it took me off-guard. Sometimes it’s better to keep your mouth shut, but in a press conference it’s pretty difficult.”
