Jurgen Klopp explains how it feels to be working over Christmas for the first time in his life

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he's happy to be in England - even though he'll be working during the Christmas period for the first time ever.

Back in his native Germany, football stops for a winter break each year, allowing players and coaching staff to spend time with their families. But with a Boxing Day trip to table-topping Leicester in store, things will be very different for the former Borussia Dortmund coach this year. "This is the first time in my life I've lived in a foreign country, and it's different – but everything is OK," he explained.

"It's not the most emotional Christmas I ever had, but it's very special to be here.

"Of course we have to go out and do our best while everyone else wants to eat, drink and watch a film. It's harder for the players than for me because I've had a lot of Christmas Days. "But I will celebrate Jesus Christ today, no problem, and start preparing the game on Boxing Day for Leicester. I'm in the right place, everything is good, and we are in a special time."
