Adam Lallana has suffered another injury setback.

The England midfielder has only made two starts for Liverpool this season after injuring his thigh before the start of the campaign.

With Liverpool set to host West Brom in the FA Cup this weekend, Jurgen Klopp has now revealed that Lallana will play no part in the game after picking up what he describes as a “little muscle tear” during training.

“With Adam Lallana we have a little issue,” Klopp said. “He is out the next game. It is not a big one, but when you are out you have an issue with adapting to the intensity,” he explained.

When asked if the injury would only keep Lallana out for the one game, Klopp added that he was unsure: “It is a little tear, nothing big, a muscle injury, but we don’t know.”

Lallana featured in the third round victory over Everton at Anfield earlier this month. Many Liverpool fans welcomed his return to the side, which coincided with Philippe Coutinho’s departure to Barcelona.

James Milner, who is suffering from a dead leg, is also set to miss this weekend’s game, although Jordan Henderson is expected to feature at some stage. Daniel Sturridge will also be in Liverpool’s squad for the game, despite recent reports that he may be nearing a move away from Anfield on loan.
