Jurgen Klopp has been charged by the FA with misconduct relating to his behaviour during Liverpool’s celebrations after Divock Origi’s 96th minute winner against Everton on Sunday afternoon.

Anfield erupted when a Jordan Pickford gifted Liverpool a late, late winner in a Merseyside derby that seemed destined to end goalless.

Klopp then ran onto the pitch to embrace his goalkeeper, Alisson, before running back to his technical area pumping his fists.

He was widely criticised for taking his celebrations too far in the aftermath of the match.

Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri defended his manager, saying to Sky Sports “every person is emotional and you saw that when you score in the last minute of the derby, the game was also fantastic, so there’s a lot of emotions in there.”

“It happens. Many coaches have done that before, it’s something nice and good, but it’s not to disrespect the opponent, it’s emotions and it happens in football. It was nice to see the emotions from the coach,” he added.
