Klopp made negative comments about Kevin Friend's performance

The FA have charged Jurgen Klopp for comments made after Liverpool's draw against West Ham United last week. The Liverpool manager was critical of referee Kevin Friend's decision making during the game, which finished 1-1. Speaking to Sky Sports, the Liverpool manager said: "There were so many situations where it was 50-50 or 60-40... [he gave a] free-kick for the other team. As a human being, I know if I make a big mistake in the first half, I don't want to open the gap even more." https://twitter.com/SkySportsPL/status/1092549473618690048?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1092549473618690048&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.joe.co.uk%2Fsport%2Fjurgen-klopp-asked-to-explain-comments-about-referee-kevin-friend-218755 "Referees are obviously human beings, and I understand that, but I didn't during the game because I had no clue that our goal was offside," he added. Managers are permitted to discuss refereeing decisions in post-match interviews, so long as they do not insinuate bias, call their integrity into question or say anything offensive.
