Jurgen Klopp appears to have settled on Liverpool’s starting goalkeeper

Jurgen Klopp already decided on the colour of netting for the Anfield goals. Now he has decided the man he wants to protect them.

Simon Mignolet has done little wrong this season but he is set for the Liverpool bench for the next few weeks. Loris Karius kept a clean sheet on his competitive Liverpool debut, against Derby, midweek and he will start in goal against Hull City in the Premier League. The German was informed he was starting, according to the Liverpool Echo, at the club's Melwood training ground earlier today. Karius arrived at Liverpool from Mainz for the relatively cheap fee of £4.7m. Having held discussions with Klopp before his move was confirmed, the 23-year-old felt confident that he would get a run in the first team. Injury during pre-season prevented him from coming in from the start but he is getting the opportunity now, and not letting distractions get in his way. Ahead of the German's full debut, Klopp told reporters: "What we want is two really strong goalkeepers and that is what I think we have got... "I really don’t want to make a big battle of these two goalkeepers, why should I? Goalkeepers need to feel secure but you can’t play your life as a keeper without conceding goals. You will always feel a bit guilty, more or less." Mignolet can feel rightly put out that he will be on the bench for the Hull game.
