Jose Aldo’s coach gives his prediction for the McGregor-Diaz rematch

Jose Aldo has been very forthright about Conor McGregor ever since the Irishman defeated him at UFC 194, and now the Brazilian's coach has got in on the act.

Aldo is poised to take on Frankie Edgar at UFC 200 for the interim featherweight belt, while current featherweight champ McGregor headlines the card with a rematch at 170lb against Nate Diaz. The Rio-based fighter had wanted a chance to take on 'The Notorious' to avenge his 13-second defeat, but will have to wait. And Andre Pederneiras, Aldo's compatriot and trainer, is backing Diaz to do the business again against McGregor. "Conor’s chances at defeating guys in this division are really low," Pederneiras told MMAFighting.com. "I think Conor will control more his impulse to get the knockout so he doesn’t gas again, but even if he wins, which I don’t think will happen, he’s way smaller than the athletes in this division, and I’m not even talking about the champion." The UFC 196 loss to Diaz was McGregor's first in the promotion, but if he wins there has been talk that he will relinquish his featherweight belt and go after welterweight boss Robbie Lawler next.
