Jordan Henderson did his club proud over the weekend

Henderson did not publicise it but the Liverpool captain produced a wonderful gesture to deliver plenty of Christmas cheer to families in need.

The midfielder decided to give back to the community at this difficult time of year for so many by paying for a party at Anfield for underprivileged and disabled children, providing presents and an unforgettable experience on the afternoon before Christmas Eve.

Henderson enlisted the help of Liverpool and England teammate Adam Lallana for the occasion, which was revealed by an employee at the stadium, Ellie Phillips.

Ellie wrote on Facebook: “So today I worked a Christmas party organized by Henderson which he paid the lounge hire (over £2000 in the KD stand) invited three lots of people and communities with underprivileged or disabled kids, filling a room each time.

“He paid for all of the food, entertainment and brought Lallana along with him to meet everyone and sign their programs/take photos.

“Then to top it all off he had bought each of the kids a decent present for Christmas (including iPads for older kids).

“They’re both honestly the most humble, down to earth, generous people & made a lot of kids Christmas’s today. Our captain is boss x

“Thought I’d just give people an insight of what they’re actually like and not just the image they keep up.”
