Joe Cole looks set to be the latest former England star to head to the USA

America just can’t get enough of England’s 2006 World Cup squad.

With Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Ashley Cole already plying their trade in The Land of Opportunity, it now appears Joe Cole is set to make the move across the Atlantic.

The former West Ham, Chelsea and Liverpool midfielder is expected to leave Coventry at the end of the season, with ESPN reporting that Cole is set for a move to North American Soccer League (NASL) side, Tampa Bay Rowdies.

The fantastically-named Rowdies have reportedly offered 34-year-old Cole a one year deal as they seek to bolster their profile internationally.

Whatever next? Stewart Downing turning out for the Carolina Rail Hawks? Jermaine Jenas being coaxed out of retirement to play for Fort Lauderdale Strikers? Anything is possible.
