British fighter Jimi Manuwa breaks into UFC light heavyweight top 5 in new rankings

Londoner Jimi Manuwa has been rewarded for his landmark victory over Ovince Saint Preux with a top-five berth in the latest UFC rankings.

'Poster Boy' stopped his Haitian-American opponent in the second round at UFC 204 last weekend, extending his career MMA record to 16-2 (5-2 UFC), in one of the standout performances on the Manchester card. Middleweight contender Gegard Mousasi made short work of Vitor Belfort, dispatching the former light heavyweight champ with a second-round TKO, and as expected he has now swapped places with the Brazilian. Dutch fighter Mousasi has spoken about the curious position of being the bookies' favourite over a fighter ranked higher than him, His rise to fifth sees him overtake Anderson Silva, Robert Whittaker and Derek Brunson, and there have been suggestions that his next fight could come against 'Spider' if a rumoured bout between the veteran and Georges St-Pierre fails to materialise.
