Jamie Carragher’s deleted tweet doesn’t make great reading for Alberto Moreno

The Europa League final of 2016 was not Alberto Moreno’s finest performance in Liverpool red.

In fact, if many of the club’s supporters have their way, it might well prove to be his *last* appearance in Liverpool red.

With the second half not even 20 seconds old, the Spanish left-back’s attempted headed clearance went straight to the feet of Sevilla’s Mariano.

Moreno’s pathetic attempt to then tackle his opponent left him even more red-faced, with the Brazilain skipping past him with ease before laying on Kevin Gameiro for the equaliser.

It was a pivotal moment if ever there was one, with Sevilla going on to win a match that they’d been outclassed in for its first 45 minutes.

Joining the masses of Liverpool fans that vented their frustration at Moreno was Jamie Carragher, who appeared to take to Twitter in the aftermath of the game to urge for the club to get themselves a new left-back.

The tweet was deleted before long, but it sure as hell won’t make pretty reading for Alberto Moreno… if he’s brave enough to turn his phone on after a disastrous night in Basel.

Perhaps they shouldn’t have been so hasty to part company with Jose Enrique, eh?
