Liverpool fans sank into despair as they suffered a surprising 2-0 defeat to Newcastle to see their good run of league form end and their momentum come crashing to a screeching halt.

referee's performance, but Carragher certainly had no intention of complaining about Martin Skrtel's own goal, which opened the scoring for the home side.
