Jake Paul claims he’ll fight Tyson or John Fury before Tommy

‘I’ll fight his brother or his dad before I’ll fight Tommy’

Jake Paul has claimed that he will fight either Tyson Fury or John fury before he considers rearranging his fight against Tommy Fury.

The American was due to face Tommy on December 18 in Tampa Bay, however the former Love Island star was forced to pull out due to injury and illness.

He was instead replaced by Tyron Woodley who was defeated by Paul in the sixth round with a brutal knockout victory.

But the 22-year-old wasn’t impressed by the former YouTuber’s performance, describing it as the ‘worst six rounds of boxing I’ve seen’ whilst confirming his intentions to fight Paul next.

“Make no mistake, that’s the fight I want next,” he said via talkSPORT.

“ll always be checking in with my team every single day to see where we’re up to with that. But there comes a time where I have my own career. My goal still isn’t changed.

“My goal is to be a champion in this sport. And believe it or not, fighting Jake Paul, it doesn’t give me that at all. Fighting Jake Paul will never make me a champion in boxing.

“So Jake Paul, yes, it’s a great fight. It’s a big fight. But it doesn’t really make me achieve my dreams.”

However Paul didn’t seem as keen as Tommy, joking that he’d rather fight other members of the Fury family ahead of Tommy.

“He wants the payday. But I said it before, I don’t wanna take the fight with him, he doesn’t deserve it,” he said to Volume Sports.

“I’d rather fight Tyson Fury. I’ll fight his brother or his dad before I’ll fight Tommy.”

It is unlikely that those ideas would come to fruition as Tyson currently prepares for a mandatory fight with Dillian Whyte whilst also targeting Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk as potential opponents.

Meanwhile Paul is rumoured to be in talks with veteran boxer, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr as his next fight.
