Images of next season’s Real Madrid kit have been leaked and it’s a return to a classic design

The grandad collar is back

We like the look of this.

There’s only so much you can do with a white football kit. Every year, adidas are faced with the task of reinventing the Real Madrid kit, which is famously all white.

They have their methods: collar, no collar, different colour trim, different position of the three stripes, and so on. This season, Madrid have been wearing the unusual combination of plain white with turquoise blue trim, while last season their jersey featured purple trim and a smart collar.

Images of what is reportedly next season’s kit have been leaked, thanks to the trusty folk at footyheadlines.com.

The new design features a return to the grandad collar, similar to the shirt Los Blancos wore during the 2014/15 campaign, only this new design does not include any pink trim.

Turquoise will be ditched for black too, on the trademark adidas stripes, sponsor printing and stitching. Adidas are restricted to a minimalistic approach with their Madrid kits, but it works.

Undoubtedly, this jersey will see a lot of the Bernabeu’s turf next season, as Cristiano Ronaldo takes every opportunity to rip it off and modestly expose his torso to 90,000 adoring fans.

Watch out for this beauty, which will be hitting the stores soon.
