Images of Barcelona’s 2020/21 ‘fourth kit’ leaked

Barcelona will release a fourth kit for the 2020/21 season, which they will wear for a select few big games this season, for reasons I cannot explain

Four kits, Barça? Four? That’s insane

How many kits does a football team need? Two, sure, definitely. Three? Ok, maybe, just to be on the safe side? Four? Now that’s just bonkers.

But I suppose we should expect nothing less from Barcelona at the moment, a club that has been in crisis for months, if not years.

Yes, Barcelona are releasing a fourth kit for this season, which looks very similar to their home kit, with a splash more yellow as a nod to their regional flag, as shown by these leaked images.

It looks alright, to be fair, and the journalist who first published the leaked photos, Joan Vehils, claims the shirt looks even nicer in person than in photos.

It is understood that the shirt will be worn for a select few “big matches” this season, including the second Clásico fixture and presumably any semi-finals or finals the team might reach – which at the moment feels like a bit of a stretch.

The shirt will obviously fly off the virtual shelves, but it will hardly make a difference to the mountainous task Barça face in balancing their books.

According to reports, the club need to slash their wage bill by £170 million if the long term future of the club is to be secured.

Could keeping hold of Lionel Messi turn out to be what brings the club down?
