And even if you accept that if it was up to Mesut Ozil, he probably wouldn't have tweeted a professionally taken photo of himself on the substitute's bench during Arsenal's preseason tour of America, you definitely weren't expecting was to see Ilkay Gundogan do the same.
But the Manchester City newboy briefly sent a shiver of excitement through Arsenal fans' spines after he tweeted about how thrilled he was to join the Gunners on their preseason tour, accompanied by a photo of his international temmate Ozil.
The tweet was obviously meant for the Arsenal player's account, which using our Sherlock-esque powers of deduction we have concluded must be controlled by the same person who runs Gundogan's account.
It was only up for a few minutes, but that was long enough for the sneaky Twitterati to get their screenshots in and make sure the simple slip up will never be forgotten.
