Iker Casillas hopes to finish his career at Real Madrid after coming through a difficult time at the club.

The 33-year-old has a deal up until 2017 and wants to see it out, having already made over 700 appearances for the club since making his debut back in 1999.

“I want to stay until 2017, when my contract ends,” Casillas told AS. “I want to end my career at Real Madrid.”

The news will come as a blow to Arsenal, who were reportedly interested in bringing Casillas to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Arsene Wenger is now expected to turn to Chelsea’s unsettled Petr Cech.
