How Tony Hawk's went from classic to utter crap
If you were a gamer in the late 1990s, you probably played THPS
Few game series took the world by storm in the late 1990s quite as well as Tony Hawk's Pro Skater did. From the outset of the series, it wowed those that played it.
With its intuitive and user-friendly control system, to its absolutely banging soundtracks, the first three games in the series are three of the best games ever made.
But then things went a little wild, and not in a good way. While THPS 4 was well received, it would be the beginning of the end for the series that would only get more bizarre and less playable as the years went on.
This is the story of how the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series went from being one of the greatest, to a laughing stock.
The early Tony Hawk's games are absolute classics. Then the series turned to absolute crap. How did it all go so wrong?
