Hilarious misunderstanding takes place between Darren Till and Mike Perry

The Liverpool welterweight got a great kick out of this

Darren Till is usually quite an intense person to talk to.

But not even Till could hold back the laughter after the misunderstanding that took place with welterweight rival Mike Perry when the pair were in Los Angeles over the weekend.

Guest fighters for the UFC 227 fight week in Los Angeles, Till and Perry spent a lot of time together and even managed to set up a sparring session.

But Till, who is set to fight for the 170lbs title next month, initially thought that ‘Platinum’ was requesting a session in the hotel spa, rather than a workout.

Bran Holloway captured the below exchange between the fighters who were not always so cordial.

Till and Perry spent a lot of last year going back and forth on social media and even came face to face in Gdansk as they looked to set up a clash in the Octagon.

While the bad blood seems to have simmered down, work is work and they managed to get some rounds under their belts in a friendly capacity at the fighter workout room last week.

“I didn’t get the gist of what he said. We were at the press conference and he asked me if I fancied a spar after the press conference and I thought he meant a ‘spa’ – like a sauna and a steam,” Till explained.

“When we got to the hotel, he was like: ‘Are you ready with your gloves and that?’ And I said: ‘What do you mean?’ He went: ‘No, sparring!’ And I went: ‘Oh, you want to spar?’

“So I got some gloves and we went to the workout room. We did a bit of shadowboxing and then we had a few rounds of a little bit of sparring. It was good.

“He’s a terrific fighter and one day, me and him will meet. It was good sparring and he gave me a few good punches to the face.”
