Hector Bellerin gives Arsenal fans hope about his immediate future

The full-back is in demand.

Given that Arsene Wenger will be staying at the Emirates Stadium for two more years, Arsenal fans will be hoping that their manager can rebuild the side into a team that’s capable of competing for the Premier League title.

Hell, Gunners fans would probably settle for Champions League qualification from the 2017/18 campaign, such was the dismal season that Arsenal endured.

Regarding new recruits, there’s no denying that the Europa League football isn’t as attractive a proposition as the Champions League, but this summer will be a vitally important one for Arsenal in terms of rebuilding.

The Gunners finished 18 points behind Chelsea and 11 points adrift of local rivals Tottenham. Despite the FA Cup win, there’s no denying that the squad needs to be overhauled but Arsenal fans might be more concerned about the quality of those players that might potentially leave the club.

Uncertainty still shrouds the future of Alexis Sanchez while Héctor Bellerín’s performances have won the Spaniard a host of admirers on the continent. Barcelona are  constantly touted as his most likely destination as a fee of £40m has been widely reported.

Given that the defender started his career at the Nou Camp, it’s logical that people would assume that he has been tempted to return to Catalonia, but Bellerín has provided an update for Arsenal fans.

In fact, Ed Aarons, the deputy news editor of The Guardian, has stated that Bellerín’s agent has rubbished talk of an imminent bid from Barcelona.
