Hector Bellerin drops Twitter hint that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be on his way to Arsenal

All the excuse needed for some to jump to conclusions

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang looks set to leave Borussia Dortmund.

The Gabonese striker has been one of the most prolific goal scorers on the planet in recent years but is believed to be departing the Bundesliga side in the the imminent future after being left out of their squad over the weekend for “disciplinary reasons”.

Not for the first time, his name has been mentioned in connection with a possible switch to Arsenal, especially with them needing to find a replacement for Manchester-bound Alexis Sanchez.

Although there’s nothing to officially say Arsenal are in for the 28-year-old, many have interpreted Hector Bellerin’s recent actions on Twitter as a clue that this is more than just a rumour.

The right back, a scorer in Arsenal’s defeat at Bournemouth on Sunday, has recently followed Aubameyang on Twitter which – as we all know damn well – is all the excuse needed for some to jump to conclusions about a possible transfer move.

Make of it what you will, but the timing does seem strange.

As for Sanchez, it’s still unclear as to whether he will be playing his football for United or City at the end of the month. Most reports still suggest United are leading the race for the Chilean, although nobody appears to be fully ruling City out just yet.
