He scored a hat-trick but Scott Sinclair seemingly failed to get on Celtic’s team bus

Scott Sinclair scored a hat-trick as Celtic secured their sixth consecutive Scottish Premiership title.

But the former Chelsea, Manchester City and Swansea winger was a mere afterthought as the Hoops’ team bus took off in celebration of their triumph.

Brendan Rodgers’ side’s 5-0 rout over Hearts at Tynecastle continued Celtic’s dominance in Scotland and it will take some going for rivals to make up the ground.

Sinclair was sought out by every outlet in the ground to offer his take on his new club’s latest title win and in the midst of his several interviews, he discovered that the Celtic coach took off without him.

Edinburgh News reports that, at 3.45pm, Sinclair rushed to leave the stadium after speaking to reporters only to be told that his teammates had already taken off.

He didn’t have to hang around for too long in enemy territory though as, according to the report, a phonecall resulted in the bus making a quick U-turn to collect Celtic’s hat-trick hero.

And, nice guy that he is, Sinclair used his time waiting for the bus’ return wisely as he returned to the stadium briefly to sign a few more autographs and take a few more photographs with his match ball and man-of-the-match champagne in his hands.

“It was a good memory to come off the bench here on my Celtic debut and score the winner and now I’m back and scoring a hat-trick and winning the game and winning the title,” Sinclair said, in quotes from the Scottish Daily Record.

“It means so much to me after all I’ve been through in the last few years, not knowing where my career was going to end up.

“Relegation from Villa was tough and I didn’t know where I was going.

“I was at a stage in my career where I was frustrated I couldn’t show my attributes and what I could do for the team.

“It is great that I’ve come here and shown that week in, week out.

“Obviously, you have the thoughts of what you hope it’s going to be like but this move has worked out even better than I expected.

“The main thing for me was to enjoy football again and I had lost that a bit.

“Now it is for me to keep working hard, keep looking forward and keep performing in games.”
