But the people at the CIES Football Observatory have attempted a more scientific approach by actually attaching a potential fee to who they have decided occupy the position of the 20 most valuable players in world football. And Tottenham fans might be happy to see their own Harry Kane come in at 5th, apparently worth over €31.7m (£25m) more than former Spur Gareth Bale (11th), while Dele Alli (14th) is also valued higher than his international teammate Raheem Sterling (16th).
