Roy Hodgson has sent a big fat oh-no-I-didn't message to nosy photographers everywhere by not selecting Harry Kane in his starting eleven for England's European Championship qualifier against Lithuania.

The England manager has instead opted for Danny Welbeck alongside captain Wayne Rooney. In fairness to Hodgson, Welbeck has scored five goals in the four qualifying games thus far and it would have been very harsh to drop him for the in-form Spurs marksmen. Twitter reacted to the decision with dismay and not a little frustration: https://twitter.com/GaryLineker/status/581537025553264640 https://twitter.com/DeAndreYedIin/status/581532158516310016 https://twitter.com/DaleBradley7/status/581532858881294336 https://twitter.com/__arsenal_news_/status/581530639431778304 https://twitter.com/SpursStatMan/status/581529606609567744 https://twitter.com/AdamFFC/status/581531867146518528 https://twitter.com/MichaelGannon/status/581531855226318849
