[GRAPHIC] Muay Thai injury will make you feel silly for ever believing that you’ve actually had a cut lip

Now THIS is a cut lip

Ben Kiely

This poor chap won’t be eating salt and vinegar Walkers for a long, long time.

Fair warning, you won’t be eating anything for a while if you read the rest of this article. It’s about to get pretty damn graphic.

So split lips. If you’ve ever played a sport that involves any level of physical contact (sorry for alienating you darts and snooker players) you’ve probably seen a split lip or two before.

All it takes is a ball to hit you out of nowhere or a misplaced hand or foot in a tackle to tear your kisser and leave your teammates making Joker impressions at your expense for the next little while.

In that ‘best fight of… ever’ at UFC 189 between Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald for the welterweight championship, we had to endure the champ’s grotesque lip flapping about the place as he gave his victorious Octagon interview. It was an incredible bout and all, but the sight of Lawler’s mouth won’t be leaving our memories any time soon… and that fight happened almost two years ago.

Another contender for the most vile lip injury in the history of sport is from the world of rugby.

New Zealander Lachine Munro suffered this horror show wound while togging out for Lyon in the second tier of French rugby back in 2014.

If this isn’t the stuff of nightmares, we don’t know what is.

Admittedly, that was a particularly disgusting one, but we think we’ve come across an even worse one, and we decided to show it to you because, well, we’re just weird like that.

Muay Thai fighter Putok Tor Surat may not be able to take any actual cakes inside his mouth for a while, but he may just take the cake in terms of horrific split lips.

Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
