Watch Gordon Strachan lose patience with Maltese journalist and drop the f-bomb

You won't like him when he's angry

When interviews goes horribly wrong Vol. 267: Gordon Strachan.

Scotland absolutely annihilated nine-man Malta 5-1 to get their World Cup qualifying campaign off to a flying start at the Ta’ Qali National Stadium in Attard on Monday night.

Goals from Steven Fletcher, Chris Martin and a hat-trick from Robert Snodgrass secured an emphatic victory for the Scots and you’d think their manager would have been in good spirits after the dominant win. Well, at least you would if you’d never watched a Gordon Strachan interview before.

The gaffer seemed anything but cheerful when he made an appearance on Maltese television after the match. The local reporter was trying to cope with some technical difficulties and Strachan quickly ran out of patience.

“Tell Rodney to get a fucking move on,” he spat with venom on the live broadcast which caused the reporter to responded by repeating “Rodney”.

Fed up with the interview being derailed he shouted, “Who’s Rodney?” At this point they cut back to the studio and gave up on the interview completely.

If that’s what Strachan’s like after a 5-1 victory, imagine what he’d have been like if Scotland had lost. Actually, we probably don’t have to imagine – it would have likely been exactly the same.
