No, he didn’t say himself

With the next round of Champions League knockout fixtures coming up this week, football fans have reason to get excited; there are some tasty fixtures on the cards.

One of the most appealing fixtures is a repeat of the 2017 final: Real Madrid vs Juventus. Madrid emerged the victors in Cardiff last season, but Juventus will be eager to get their revenge in this quarter-final.

Juve legend Giorgio Chiellini has insisted that the Bianconeri are more determined than ever to beat the current holders of the Champions League and “achieve something important.”

Juventus’ main strength is their resilience and solidity at the back, and that comes from Gigi Buffon and Chiellini himself. The Italian defender showed led the Juventus side through their second leg tie against Tottenham, clearing everything that came near him and making several last ditch tackles. But he thinks that Real Madrid have a better defender than him.

“I will never have the technical quality or the speed of Sergio Ramos, he is the best central defender in the world and knows how to perform in the big games but also in Spain is Pique who was fortunate to develop alongside Puyol,” he said.

Chiellini is humble, acknowledging that Ramos is blessed with more natural ability, but don’t mistake that humility for a lack of confidence. Juventus always have a game plan and they will be well prepared to deal with Madrid when they come to Turin tomorrow night.
