Steven Gerrard expressed surprise at Chelsea dropping John Terry - and felt Jose Mourinho may have made a mistake.
The Chelsea boss has replaced Terry with youngster Kurt Zouma for Wednesday night's Champions League clash with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
But Gerrard, speaking as a pundit for BT Sport, felt that Terry's experience and stature was invaluable if Chelsea were to turn their season round.
Insisting that a manager should always play his captain, could it be that Gerrard was also making a point to Brendan Rodgers?
