Gary Lineker trolls viewers with Match of the Day running order

So... Many... Nibbles

There was only ever going to be one candidate for first spot.

Manchester United’s thrilling 3-1 victory over Arsenal in Saturday’s late Premier League kick-off may well go down as the game of the season.

Both sides’ willingness to attack without fear provided a terrific game for neutrals while supporters of the teams involved couldn’t help but be reminded of the classic battles of yesteryear between United and Arsenal.

David De Gea had to be at his typical best to keep the Gunners out on several occasions but could do nothing to get to an Alexandre Lacazette effort shortly after half-time.

A Jesse Lingard brace and Antonio Valencia opener made Paul Pogba’s subsequent red card less of an issue than it otherwise might’ve been.

Gary Lineker knew the quality of the game he had just witnessed but, never one to pass up the opportunity to take the piss, he grasped the chance to troll his followers with the running order for Match of the Day.

The weekly Premier League highlights programme usually reserves its first slot for the best game and Lineker cast out the bait by announcing that Arsenal vs. United would be shown fourth; after Liverpool’s victory over Brighton, Chelsea’s win against Newcastle and Everton’s triumph at home to Huddersfield.

The former Leicester forward put his followers out of their moany misery shortly after, however, as he revealed the real running order that we can expect to see at 10.20 on BBC One.
