Gareth Bale was not left off the hook for his choice of attire in Dublin

"Mate you're from Whitechurch not Madeira."

Sean McMahon

How would you have described today’s weather?

Absolutely glorious?

Beautiful?

Ok, maybe that’s a bit too much but to be fair, it was pretty damn nice.

Not a cloud in the sky and the sun shining all day.

Can’t beat it.

It helped add to what was already going to be a terrific atmosphere at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium for Friday’s World Cup qualifier between Ireland and Wales.

You would expect with these balmy conditions that most players would not find the need for thermal comfort.

However, this did not apply to Wales’ Gareth Bale.

The Real Madrid man was noticeably sporting some gloves as he took to the field for the warm-up and they remained on throughout the game.

The reaction, let’s say, was inevitable.
