Gareth Bale is unwanted by Real Madrid fans

He may be the most expensive player in the world, but it seems his own supporters aren't particularly keen on him.

Gareth Bale continues to stress that he is extremely happy at Real Madrid, despite sustained interest from Man United. However the results of a recent poll suggest the locals are less than enamoured with him. According to the poll by Spanish newspaper AS, most Madridistas don't want the Welshman in their team. In fact, less than 40% of them see him in their ideal starting lineup. Over 20,000 voted in the online ballot, which was topped by Cristiano Ronaldo, Isco, James Rodriguez and Karim Benzema in attacking positions - ahead of the more costly Briton. Only 39% of Real fans plumped for Bale in their starting XI. He'd be far more welcome at Old Trafford, that's for sure...
