Gareth Bale could be heading to Chelsea in sensational swap deal

The deal could suit all parties

It’s a deal that could work out for all parties

Swap deals are rare in football. That is mainly due to the shear number of complex factors that must be agreed upon in order for it to go through. However, we may start to see more of them due to the obscene inflation the transfer market is experiencing.

Alexis Sánchez moving to Manchester United in exchange for Henrikh Mkhitaryan plus cash could be the first of many similar deals that involve clubs swapping players directly as opposed to forking out hugely inflated fees.

The next one could involve Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard. Bale has enjoyed a lot of success at Real Madrid, but injuries have hindered his time there, preventing him from playing as much as he’d have liked and it seems like he may have to move on this summer as Florentino Perez plans for a squad overhaul.

Hazard has always been greatly admired by Real Madrid and he seems destined to play for them eventually. With Ronaldo moving into a more central position, the left wing slot could be up for grabs and who better to take it than Hazard?

The Sunday Express are reporting that Real Madrid are set to offer Chelsea £100m + for Eden Hazard in the summer transfer window.

About those inflated fees…

Last month Hazard insisted: “I’m focused with Chelsea. I’ve got two years contract left and I’m happy here. Like I said 10 times before, I want to finish this year and then we’ll see. But I’m happy here.”

But that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be happier at Real Madrid. In November, Hazard told French television channel Canal+: “Everyone knows the admiration I have for Real, but for now I’m a Blue.”

Bale would probably be resistant to the move, but if it became clear that he was no longer wanted at Real Madrid, a move to Chelsea could suit him well. He would be the star attacker in the team and have a shot at winning a Premier League title.

However, he has previously stated that if he were to move back to the Premier League, a return to his former club Tottenham would be his first choice.
