Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard unhappy with harsh tweet from Manchester City player

"I don't like to see that. It's a cheap shot."

Manchester City visited the Amex Stadium to play Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday. It may only be the opening weekend of the Premier League season, but Pep Guardiola's side showed why they are favourites for the title. They recorded a comfortable 2-0 victory over the newly promoted team thanks to a goal from Sergio Aguero and an unfortunate own-goal by Lewis Dunk. Dunk challenged Gabriel Jesus after the ball was crossed into the box and slammed it beyond his own goalkeeper. Dunk would not have wanted to mark his top flight debut with an own-goal for his hometown club, and sympathy was in short supply amongst Brighton's opposition. Benjamin Mendy, who joined City from Monaco during the summer, missed Saturday's game with a thigh injury, but found Dunk's misfortune to be pretty funny. The BT Sport pundits felt Mendy was wrong to publicly mock another player's error, as a time will come during the season when he makes a big mistake of his own.
