Former Chelsea man claims Jose Mourinho is “finished” as he tears into his former boss

Simon Lloyd

Jose Mourinho’s struggles with Chelsea this season have been well documented.

Despite guiding the club to a title in the 2014/15 campaign, a string of poor results have seen the champions languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table as the season reaches its halfway point.

Now, one of the club’s former players has taken aim at Mourinho, branding him a “fake” who is “finished” as a coach.

Former Romanian international, Adrian Mutu, played for the club between 2003 and 2004.

Now playing for Pune City in the Indian Super League, he is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror:

“He has been a great coach in the past, but as a person, he is fake.

“He only looks after himself, and has no consideration for how his players are feeling and thinking. You could not go and talk to him.

“As a coach, he is finished. There is no way back for him. How do you come back from something like this?”

Mutu’s Chelsea career ended after failing a drugs test in 2004, which saw the club terminate his contract.

By this point, he had already clashed with Mourinho after reporting for international duty – despite informing his manager that he was injured.

Mutu clearly believes that Chelsea’s poor form is entirely the fault of the Portuguese boss.

“You can see now how many of his players look unhappy. Why? He is the reason.

“He cannot talk to players like they should be spoken to.

“The first thing he does is he goes to the biggest player in his team, and tries to make him angry.

“No matter who it was, John Terry, Frank Lampard, it is just what he does for fun. That was just his way of doing things, and he won’t change for anyone.”
