Wilfried Zaha was sent off after earning himself a second yellow card for a foul on Davinson Sanchez in Crystal Palace's game against Tottenham Hotspur on Boxing Day. Palace were 2-0 down to Antonio Conte's side after conceding a couple of quick-fire goals from Harry Kane and Lucas Moura when their talisman, who had been booked for a trip earlier in the half, was dismissed after he barged the Spurs centre back to the floor. The game had been met with controversy in the build-up after the away side had filed a request to postpone the game due to a Covid-19 outbreak at the club, however the Premier League said the request had came through too late. The Eagles were dealt a further blow on the morning of the game after they confirmed manager Patrick Vieira had tested positive for Covid-19 and would not be travelling with the squad, leaving assistant manager Osian Roberts in charge for the game in North London.
