West Ham fans banned from travelling to Rapid Wien match and fined £25,500 for crowd trouble

It comes after crowd trouble in their last away game against Genk in the Europa League

West Ham United fans have been banned from travelling to Austria for their Europa League game against Rapid Wien, reports the Athletic.  UEFA have charged West Ham after crowd trouble during their game against Genk in Belgium on November 4, where visiting fans were accused of creating crowd disturbances and throwing objects at the Cegeka Arena. As a result, David Moyes' side have also been fined £25,500 after UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) confirmed that charges had been upheld. UEFA also confirmed that any West Ham fans who were planning to travel to Vienna for their game on November 25 would no longer be able to purchase tickets and would be banned from going. This is the second time that West Ham have been hit with a fine in relation to crowd trouble after they were previously fined £50,000 for crowd disturbances when Wien played West Ham at the Olympic Stadium back in October. As a result, fans of the Austrian side received the same punishment as West Ham supporters and were banned from their trip to Dinamo Zagreb. The Hammers have already qualified from their group after goals from Tomas Soucek and Said Benrahma against Genk sealed their passage into the knockout stages of the competition. Related links:
