The chant relates to Zouma's widely condemned abuse of a cat
West Ham United fans have been criticised on social media after footage emerged of them singing a tasteless chant in reference to Kurt Zouma.
Zouma has been at the centre of the news in the past week after a video obtained by The Sun showed the Frenchman abusing his cat.
The 27-year-old has since been fined two weeks' wages, which will be donated to an “appropriate animal welfare charity,” as well as having his two pet cats taken into care at the RSPCA.
West Ham boss David Moyes added to the controversy after he chose to select the defender for his side's game at Watford - something Moyes defended in his post-match conference.
Zouma had been selected to play in West Ham's game against Leicester City on Sunday, but pulled out of the game shortly before kick-off, complaining that he was suffering from illness.
Graeme Souness was heavily critical of the defender and said he had "no sympathy" for Zouma after he pulled out of the squad at short notice.
"I've got no sympathy for him," he said.
"The fact that they put it on social media, means they think there is nothing wrong with it. For me, I wouldn't have played him again this year and if I was still a player, I wouldn't want to play in a team with him."
The chant itself could be heard being sung by a large number of away fans in a pub in Leicester, with the distasteful lyrics appearing to take 'light-hearted' view of the original video which has gone viral on social media.
However despite the fans' rather awful attempt at 'banter,' supporters on Twitter condemned the chant which was also sung multiple times inside the King Power Stadium.
"What a disgrace these fans are," one fan tweeted whilst another said they were an "embarrassment of a club."
Another supporter tweeted: "Nah this really ain't it man."
